His Excellency Governor Mohammed A. Abubakar led a delegation from Bauchi State to celebrate with the first-ever Nigeria’s nominee of TUSK CONSERVATION AWARDS 2017, Mr Nachamada Geoffrey.

The Tusk Conservation Awards is in partnership with Investec Asset Management, gives a chance to celebrate extraordinary people, whose work and lives might otherwise go unnoticed outside their fields. Their work with wildlife and communities in Africa safeguards the future for all.

Since 2014, Mr Nachamada Geoffrey has been responsible for the management of all Yankari Game Reserve’s rangers including anti-poaching patrols and conservation-related activities. In 2011, Mr Nachamada received an award from Conservation Leadership Program by the Wildlife Conservation Society Nigeria (WCSN) for exemplary commitment and hard work in conservation activities in Yankari Game Reserve and Sumu Wildlife Park.

This nomination is a step up not only to Mr Nachamada but Bauchi State, Nigeria and West Africa by putting Yankari Games Reserve in the global map of the tourism industry.

The Governor was supported by Engr. Habu Mamman, Sole Administrator of Yankari Games Reserve and Sumu Wildlife Park, the District Head of Duguri Alh Ibrahim Yusuf, DG Investment Alh Aminu Musa and few others.
