Governor M. A. Abubakar held a forum with the Nigerian Society of Victoria (NSV). The NSV comprises of distinguished professionals who have made a mark in business, commerce and industry.
The NSV appreciated the move by the Governor Abubakar to meet with them. They intimated the Governor of their activities part of which is to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Nigeria, as well as pass it on to their children. They expressed willingness to collaborate with the government, and play their part in the development of Nigeria through direct investment. They lauded Gov. Abubakar for making avenues possible for them to contribute to nation building.
During the discussions, Gov. Abubakar highlighted challenges being faced in the state and modest achievements recorded. He intimated the Nigerian professionals that government cannot do it alone and solicited their help through direct investment in critical sectors. The Governor also laid down his developmental plans for rural infrastructure projects, agricultural modernization, land management, mining and tourism. He also sort collaboration with the Nigerian professionals to improve the health sector in the state.
