The Department of Petroleum Resources this morning paid a courtesy call to the state. The team, led by the Operations Comptroller Bauchi State was received by the Governor and his economic team at Government House Bauchi. Also present were the executive body of petroleum marketers and other relevant stakeholders.
Speaking on behalf of the DPR, the Operations Comptroller Bauchi State, Salihu Garba thanked the state for the support given to the DPR. He said of the 4 newly established offices, Bauchi office was the first to take off, earlier than anticipated. This he attributed to the interest of the Governor in the project. He also thanked Gov. M. A. Abubakar for providing office and accommodation spaces for the DPR to enable quick commencement of operations.
Responding, Governor Abubakar thanked the DPR, expressing the willingness of his administration to partner and collaborate with them to improve lives in the state. He also added that he was proposing a biofuel production unit in the state in partnership with the NNPC. Governor Abubakar also added that the state is studying the viability of establishing a gas training centre in the state, and will require all hands to be on deck.
